Wild-Haired Himalayan Hailed As World’s Most Adorable ‘Angry Cat’

There’s a new entry on the list of the most irritable cats in the world. Juno, a domestic cat from the Himalayas of New Jersey, has a permanent angry expression and the Internet is falling in love.

Juno’s Instagram account Juno, Junotheandgrycat has more than 185,000 followers and, according to its owner, seems angry about 95% of the time.

“It just gives you this critical look all the time, but I think it’s really his way of saying I love you,” owner Dominique Teta told the Daily News. “He always wants to be around. He’s always interested in what you’re doing.”

It’s hard to ignore Juno’s piercing gaze. His yellow eyes stand out from his charcoal and his smoky white fur, which often has the style of horns and a carelessly drooping beard. It’s no surprise that Juno has been compared to Hollywood actor Robert De Niro and even the Beast of “Beauty and the Beast,” although the reality is that Juno is much more affectionate.

“Real life is totally opposite to what a lot of people would think,” Teta said. “It really is … a loving cat.”

Ok so 1.) How much does Juno look like Beast from Beauty & The Beast here? And also 2.) Why are Juno’s teeth whiter than most humans’?

Juno has followers from all over the world, in Europe, Australia, and the United States, many of whom show their support by using themed goods with Juno’s signature frown.

The distinctive appearance of this “angry” cat comes from its unique breeding. Juno’s mother is a brown-spot Himalaya, while her father was half Himalayan and half Burmese.

“We’re currently waiting for DNA results to specify this, but I’ve known Juno since the day he was born, actually, and I find his story funny,” Says Teta. “It was the solitary kitten in a litter, which is very unusual and completely unexpected.”

Juno is quite self-sufficient and knows how to entertain himself when he plays in the kitchen at night. But, he never lacks human attention.

“It always has to be close and occasionally comes to your lap to scratch your chin,” says Teta. “The only time he meows is while he is playing or if he hears us humans argue and then he will get concerned and meow in your face.”
